The release notes list what each version of Advanced Boards: Kanban, Analytics & Forecasts brings, newest release first. Each entry names its version and what it includes, area by area.
First release #
Version 1.0.0
| Area | What’s included |
|---|---|
| Home | The boards you can open and what needs attention |
| Boards | Boards built from Jira spaces, a saved filter, JQL or a Jira board (its saved filter and, if you keep them, its columns), with a guided “Create board” wizard; each board opens on its Overview |
| Configure | Source and scope, flow and time (status mapping, boundaries, calendar, service levels), layout and cards, policies and agreements, board access and roles, and configuration backup and restore; a board’s configuration backs up to a file and restores only onto the flow and calendar its preview checked |
| Work and Backlog | Columns, swimlanes and saved views; moving cards with a preview and a keyboard move, offering only the Jira transitions that land in the chosen column; ranking and creating work items, and batch actions on selected cards |
| WIP policies | Limits on the board, across boards, on columns, column groups, swimlanes, cells, people, teams and classes of service, with agreements and SLEs |
| Analyze | Flow metrics with “Data as of”, “Permissions as of” and coverage on every screen, and “Explain this number”; the coverage reads Partial while the board holds work items that Jira no longer confirms |
| Forecasts | Answers to “When will this scope finish?” and “How much can finish by a date?” from delivery history, kept for up to 30 days, with exports |
| Plan | Planned dates, milestones, dependencies and priorities, with actual dates in the board’s planning time zone and a reason for every work item that is not scored |
| Risk | Current risk signals across your boards and on each board |
| Share and Reports | Stakeholder views and a library of your saved results and exports |
| Jira surfaces | Four dashboard gadgets (Advanced Boards: WIP, Advanced Boards: Throughput, Advanced Boards: Work Item Age and Advanced Boards: Forecast), the work item panel and the space page |
| Administration | License and editions, operational health and the pause on changes, imports and jobs, audit trail, permissions, data retention and deletion, a list of every board’s configuration backup, support diagnostics and error reports |
| Advanced edition | Portfolios and value streams, forecast schedules and calibration, scenarios, risk rules and alerts, policy experiments, AI investigation, templates with rollout, governance, risk automation and priority support |
| Scenarios and the apply plan | A scenario states no date for work that waits on unfinished work outside it. The apply plan never repeats an uncertain change by itself: an item that shows “Outcome unknown” waits until you select Check this item’s outcome, or is sent again only as the same request, so it takes effect once at most |
| A move to Standard | Your rules, schedules, templates, portfolios and value streams stay readable and can be deleted. The site’s governance rules still apply |
| Data and security | Every figure counts only what the viewer can read in Jira; no work item text is stored; error reports are off until an administrator turns them on; an export states its times with the time zone and its offset |
The two editions are described on Standard and Advanced editions, and what the app stores on Data and Security.
How updates reach your site #
An update of the app reaches your site by itself, and nothing needs to be reinstalled. While a new version gets ready, a screen may read “The app is setting itself up” for a moment. Nothing is lost. An update that needs a new permission waits for a Jira administrator’s approval in Connected apps; until then, the app runs without the features that need it (Support and diagnostics).
