When Advanced Boards: Kanban, Analytics & Forecasts cannot show a screen or carry out an action, it says why in a few words and offers the next step. This page lists those messages by cause, with what to do.
Access and roles #
- “You can’t see this board”: the board does not exist, or your access does not cover it. The app never says which, and nothing was deleted. Ask a Board owner for access.
- “You can’t open this scenario”, “You can’t open this run”, “You can’t export this run”, “You can’t open this experiment” or “You can’t open this stakeholder view”: the object does not exist, or your access does not cover its board or portfolio. The app never says which, and nothing was deleted. Ask a Board owner for access.
- “You can’t open this stakeholder pack”: the pack does not exist, or your access does not cover its portfolio. Ask the portfolio’s manager for access.
- “You can’t check this plan”: checking a plan needs Board owner on every board of its portfolio (Scenario results and the apply plan).
- “Your role on this board does not allow this”: the change needs a higher role, so ask a Board owner to raise yours (Board access and roles).
- “Not shown with your current access”: what you can read now differs from what the result was computed over. Select Read it again with your current access or Calculate with your access.
- “This setting is locked”: a site governance rule, or the template that governs the board, makes this setting read-only, and nothing was written. Check the governance rules in force on the board’s Configure page (Governance).
License and edition #
- “The license is inactive”: paid actions are not carried out. Results the app keeps stay readable, and your data can still be exported and deleted (Pricing and Licensing). Select Open Administration to read the license card.
- “Waiting for Atlassian to confirm this site’s license”: paid work is held until Atlassian answers. Select Try again.
- “This is part of the Advanced edition”: your site runs Standard. Select About the Advanced edition.
Changes to Jira #
- “Jira refused the transition”: Jira’s own workflow rules decided this. Open the work item in Jira.
- “That was a different request”: start the action again.
- “The outcome is unknown”: no answer from Jira confirmed the change. The app never repeats an uncertain change by itself, so select Check what happened.
- “Someone else changed this first”: select Reload, then make your change again.
- “The preview expired”: a preview is valid for a few minutes. Select Preview again.
Data and imports #
- “The import is paused”: the history is still being imported, so select Resume the import.
- “This page of results expired”: the list moved on, so select Start the list again.
- “The data is incomplete”: part of the history has not been imported yet. Check the import on the board’s Overview.
- “The source cannot be resolved”: the space, saved filter or JQL behind the board did not resolve. A Board owner fixes it under Configure → Source & scope.
- “This source cannot measure delivery”: the board’s source leaves out completed work items, so a Board owner edits the source.
- “This question is too large to answer in one read”: narrow it, with a shorter period or fewer statuses.
- “This saved result is no longer available”: it passed its retention period. Select Run it again.
- “This job cannot be resumed”: resuming could repeat an effect outside the app, so start a new job.
- “This explanation is out of date”: the point is from an older calculation. Select Calculate again.
Forecasts, scenarios, large boards and AI #
The messages of forecasts and calibration, portfolios and scenarios, very large boards and AI investigation are on Forecast, scenario and size messages.
Limits and busy moments #
- “Too many requests at once” or “Jira asked the app to slow down”: try again after the time the message names, or shortly if it names no time.
- “The app’s storage is busy”: it passes on its own, and nothing was lost. Select Try again.
- “An export of yours is still being built”: select Export again in a moment.
- “Your saved exports are at their limit”, “This installation is at its export limit” or “This export is larger than one file carries”: see Reports and exports.
- “Storage is nearly full”: an administrator frees space under Data retention and deletion (Data retention and deletion).
Site-wide states #
- “Changes are paused”: an administrator paused changes and new forecast and analysis runs. Reading and exporting keep working; try again later.
- “The app is setting itself up”: a new version is updating its storage. Select Try again.
- “This installation is deleting its app data”: nothing can be read or changed until the deletion finishes.
- “Check the entries”: fix the marked fields. In a board’s flow or layout, a field may say “A status of the board’s flow is in no column.” or “This status is not in the flow definition.”: place the status, then save again.
- “The app ran into a problem”: the change may not have taken effect, so try it again.
- “A scheduled run needs authorization”: the work runs with no one present and has no one to read Jira for it. For a forecast schedule, authorize it in the board’s Forecast section. For a risk rule, its named owner selects Accept ownership on the rule (Risk rules).
- “This part is waiting for a Jira administrator’s approval”: an administrator approves the app’s update in Connected apps.
- “This part of the page did not load” or “This part of the page stopped working”: reload the page.
Frequently asked questions #
Why do two people see different numbers on the same board? Every figure counts only the work items the viewer can read in Jira (What each person sees).
Does the app change my Jira permissions? No. Roles in the app never change what you may read in Jira.
How soon do changes in Jira appear? Within about 20 minutes (Operational health and pausing changes).
Still stuck? #
Select Get Help in the app’s navigation. It opens the vendor’s support portal. An administrator can attach a support bundle to the request (Support and diagnostics).
